重三郎は常に流行のその先を追い求めていました。前の年にやったことをなぞるのではなく、常に「次に来るもの」を探すのです。時には誰も思いつかないようなアイデアを突如として生み出してみたり、時には既存のものをちょいとひとひねりしてみたり。いずれにせよ、彼は伝統に則るを良しとせず、保守的な業界にあってまるでロックスターのような異端児でした。この曲は、そんな重三郎の破天荒で、大胆で、誰にも臆するところのない一面を描いています。打楽器は、彼の揺るぎない意志とエネルギーを突き進む破城槌のように響かせ、平子健介さんのサクソフォンが彼の野性味あふれる側面を鮮やかに浮かび上がらせています。

Jyuzaburo constantly sought to keep ahead of current fashions, looking for the next thing instead of imitating last year’s ideas. Sometimes he dreamed up something completely new, sometimes it was simply a twist or a variation of something more familiar. Either way, he was an iconoclast, a “rocker” in a sometimes staid, tradition-conscious profession. This music shows his boisterous, bold, unapologetic side. The drums are intended to illustrate the battering ram of his determination and energy, with the saxophones, played robustly by Kensuke Hirako, boldly underscoring his wild side.
