江戸の鼓動 / Innovation Pulse
江戸は経済が飛躍的に発展した時代でした。芸術、農業、金融、繊維といった多様な産業が繁栄し、生産性も大きく向上しました。江戸以前の時代だけでなく当時の他国と比べても、江戸市民は極めて高い識字率を誇り、林業や医学、農業なども著しく高度化しました。また、街道の整備によって人々の移動が活発になり、観光も盛んになりました。“江戸の鼓動”は、こうした時代のエネルギー、推進力、そしてその力強さを称える一曲です。経済の飛躍的な発展が社会のさまざまな層に恩恵を与えた、そのパワーを、金管と打楽器の堂々とした力強い響きと勢いよく続く激しいリズムの脈動で表現しています。
Edo’s economy was tremendously dynamic. Many industries, including the arts, agriculture, finance, and textiles flourished and became more productive during this period. Compared with other countries of that time, and previous eras in Japanese history, residents of Edo itself were highly literate, and the sophistication of forestry, medicine, and agriculture also grew. Travel was facilitated by a network of good roads, and generating increased tourism. “Innovation Pulse” celebrates the energy, force, and power of these movements. Many layers of society benefitted from this dynamic, bustling economy, and that power is expressed forcefully by brass and percussion, and an intensely driven rhythmic pulse.
